Schuyler von Oeyen focuses his practice on commercial and business litigation, environmental litigation, and municipal government representation.
He has extensive experience representing individuals, businesses, and public entities in a wide variety of complex litigation matters in state and federal courts, as well as in administrative proceedings. Whether advising clients in pre-litigation disputes, filing complaints, taking and defending depositions, negotiating settlements, conducting trial or taking appeals, Schuyler is committed to achieving outstanding results that serve the unique goals of every client. Prior to joining Fink + Associates Law, Schuyler was assistant regional counsel for the Social Security Administration.
Schuyler earned his bachelor’s degree in Political Science and International Relations from Brown University and his Juris Doctor degree from Case Western Reserve University School of Law. He is a member of the Litigation Section of the State Bar of Michigan. Schuyler is also a member of the Oakland County Bar Association, where he actively participates in its local chapter of the American Inns of Court. In May 2017, he was part of a team of attorneys that presented on the topic, “Opening Statements and Closing Arguments.”
Schuyler is admitted to the bar in Michigan and Ohio, and is a member of the U.S. District Courts for the Eastern and Western Districts of Michigan.
In his spare time, Schuyler enjoys hiking, sailing, traveling, and rooting for Detroit professional sports teams.
